About

Skýming offers a unique insight into Faroese culture and the homes and everyday lives of locals, as Gunnvá and Elin invite you into their private homes near the city centre of Tórshavn for an authentic experience. With a passion for sustainability and Faroese handcraft, they will teach you about Faroese wool, knitting patterns and the culture of knitting in the Faroe Islands while you will be knitting together.

There will be served a drop of tea and a bite of local delicacies like rhubarb cake, góðaráð (girdle cakes) and rullupylsa (rolled seasoned meat).

It will be possible for new knitters to get instructions. Each participant will receive a gift bag filled with Faroese yarn, needles, and a homemade knitting pattern to continue the creative journey. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, feel free to bring your needlework or simply enjoy the company.

An evening of Skýming lasts for 3 hours, from 8 to 11 pm, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 participants.
